Each team has multiple responsibilities that the coach needs help with. 1. Assistant Coach - Assist the coach during practices and games. Coach the team in the event that the coach is unable to be there. Need to be Coach and Safe Haven certified. 2. Team Parent - Be the liaison between the coach and the team. Assist the coach by relaying information, updates, reminders and other communication to keep your team up-to-date. Provide weekly reminder of game time, field location, snack responsibility, referee assignments, etc. 3. Snack Coordinator - Put together a schedule for snack duties for the team. Each family should share in the responsibility of providing snacks and a drink for the players, coach and assistant coaches. Please be sensitive to any allergies team members may have. For the older divisions, the home team provides water for the referees during the half time break. 4. Potluck Coordinator - Plan potluck get-togethers for the team if wanted. A good time may be after the first game as a get-to-know you and after the last game for the awards and end of season celebration. 5. Trophy Parent - if the team wants to get trophies for the players, order and pick up the trophies from any trophy shop. Trophies typically run up to $20. If you are planning to order trophies with the player pictures, most trophy shops require a minimum of 2 full weeks to complete. 6. Goodie Bag Coordinator - at the end of the season each player gets a goodie bag provided by the families. Each family can contribute an item for each players goodie bag or you can collect money from each family to purchase one. It's up to your team how you would like to handle this. |
